Greek Amphora Vase 60cm – Arming of Hector, Priam & Hecuba – White-Figure Pottery

Bring the legends of Troy into your home with this handmade 60 cm Greek amphora, featuring the Arming of Hector with Priam and Hecuba. Inspired by ancient Greek vase painting, this large ceramic piece combines a heroic subject with the rich visual detail of red-figure pottery.

The principal scene depicts Hector preparing for battle in the presence of his parents, King Priam and Queen Hecuba. The composition brings together the warrior and his family, recalling the human stories at the heart of the Trojan War. A separate composition of three male figures decorates the opposite side, while additional figurative artwork adorns the neck.

Terracotta-coloured figures stand out against the dark background, surrounded by palmettes, floral borders, and geometric patterns. Tall curved handles and an elevated foot complete the amphora’s elegant silhouette.

Handmade in Greece using traditional methods, each vase is shaped on the potter’s wheel, kiln-fired, and carefully painted by hand. Subtle variations in the decoration and finish make every piece individual.

An impressive centrepiece for an entrance hall, living room, or study, this decorative amphora is a distinctive choice for collectors of Greek pottery and admirers of Homeric themes, classical art, and Mediterranean interiors.
