The amphora, once used to store wine and oil, became a canvas for mythological and heroic themes, celebrated in homes and sanctuaries across the Hellenic world.
First side: It depicts Odysseus, the clever Greek hero, frequently received guidance from Athena, the goddess of wisdom and war. Appearing to him in disguise, Athena aided him through his trials, offering strategic insight and protection, especially on his long, perilous journey home to Ithaca.
Second side:It depicts a Centaur with an Arc. In ancient Greek mythology, Centaurs are half-human, half-horse creatures known for their wild, unruly nature.
