Enhance your decor with an Oinochoe from Archaic Greek period 6th century BC ,with yellow background.Oinochoe, also spelled oenochoe, is a wine jug from the classical period of Greek pottery(5th Century B.C.) A graceful vessel with delicately curved handle and trefoil-shaped mouth.

Fisrt side: It is shows Achilles Killing Penthesilea,Achilles steps to right, bearded, with long tresses, fully armed, high-crested helmet and short striped chiton, and has beaten down the Amazon queen Penthesilea on one knee, and plunges spear into her throat.

Second side: It is shows a depiction of Dionysus, the god of wine, reclining on a ship with a billowing white sail. Vines are climbing up the mast and dolphins are swimming around the ship. This painting is meant to remind the beholder of a well-known myth told of the god: Dionysus had been captured by pirates and carried off to their ship. At sea, however, the god appeared to the men in his true guise, whereupon the men, seized with panic, jumped into the sea and were transformed by Dionysus into dolphins.
