First Side: It is shows Aegeus with Pythia on Delphi. In Greek mythology Aegeus was an archaic figure in the founding myth in Athens. The "goat-man" who gave his name to the Aegean sea was, next to God Poseidon, the father of Theseus, the founder of Athenian institutions and one of the Kings of Athens Reverse side: Oedipus meeting the Sphinx at the crossroads on his journey between Thebes and Delphi.
