The Euphronios Krater(Sarpedon Krater) is an ancient Greek  terra cotta calyx-krater, a bowl used for mixing wine with water. Created around the year 515 BC.This exquisite piece captures the masterful red-figure technique and intricate mythological scenes that made the original so celebrated. Meticulously crafted from premium ceramic, it serves as a striking centerpiece for art collectors and enthusiasts alike, bringing timeless elegance and historical charm into any space.

   It was part of the collection of the  Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York from 1972 to 2008, until repatriated to Italy under an agreement negotiated in February 2006. It is now in the collection of the Archaeological Museum of Cerveteri, as part of a policy of returning stolen works of art to their place of origin.

The krater is decorated with two scenes from Trojan War.Front side depicting Sarpedon's body carried by Hypnos and Thanatos (Sleep and Death), while Hermes watches.Reverse side depicting Athenian youths arming themselves.
